About Me

I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Connecticut but able to travel anywhere. My interest in photography began in high school and took earnest in college at Temple University. After graduating with a B.A. in Photojournalism I returned home to CT to begin working at a newspaper. Sarah McCoy Photography began out of a love to create images that mattered to people. The joy I receive from couples who tell me how much they enjoy their photos is the constant drive that pushes me to be better at what I do.

In my spare time (ha...spare time!) I love spending time with my husband Michael, traveling, and watching movies. Seriously, I watch A LOT of movies so let me know if you'd like any recommendations :) I'm addicted to McDonald's Sweet Tea, anything by Apple, and Hallmark's Fresh Ink greeting cards.

On my way back from a wonderful weekend in Philly I stopped at my friend’s house to take a few photos of her dad. My friend, Elizabeth, now lives in North Carolina but I love any excuse to see her family. They always treat (and feed) me just like family. Mr. V is in the process of starting up his own blog and wanted a few shots to adorn the site. I told him I would help him out and was thrilled when he said he was looking for something other than the typical smiling headshot. Here are just a few of my favorites.
